System Design

TriLynx offers comprehensive services to support the ingest of environmental data from monitoring systems using radio, satellite, cellular, internet, and other protocols. TriLynx implements redundant architectures for the deployment of NovaStar and can design and implement custom displays and analysis workflows for real-time information.

NovaStar Implementation

TriLynx offers services to install and configure new NovaStar implementations. TriLynx can define new systems or import site and sensor information from existing data systems.

A typical installation involves the following tasks:

  • Configuration of one or more servers to run NovaStar.
  • Installation and configuration of NovaStar software and database.
  • Configuration of stations, sensors, and other data in the NovaStar database.
  • Configuration of data collection from various sources, including ALERT, ALERT2, 2-way radio telemetry, GOES, satellite telemetry, cellular telemetry, web services, APIs, etc.
  • Configuration of alarms and notifications.
  • Configuration of statistical reporting to summarize performance of stations, repeater loading, and radio path reliability.

On-premises or Cloud Servers

TriLynx can install and configure NovaStar on hardware or a virtual server operated at your facility or cloud servers. Cloud servers increase system reliability by providing a physically separate data collection platform. A combination of servers can provide redundancy with private and public access.

System Integration

The NovaStar system can be integrated with an organization’s business processes, for example:

Training

TriLynx offers training to educate clients about using the NovaStar software system and maintaining data networks.  Training can be provided on-site, in the TriLynx offices, or remotely via webinar software.  Inquire about training that meets your needs at the location of your choice.

Support

Purchasing a NovaStar system and paying for annual maintenance entitles clients to a normal level of support, including troubleshooting software bugs and operations support.  Annual product updates are included in the standard support agreement.

Support for data networks and stations is typically provided by our partners who have implemented and support telemetry systems. We work closely with our industry partners and clients to ensure that the NovaStar system is functioning as intended.

Custom Software Development

In addition to implementing NovaStar systems, TriLynx can provide custom software development services including database design and software development for web and cloud solutions. Our expertise with real-time and historical data management and analysis ensures that clients are provided with solutions that meet their needs. Tabletop Storm Event Simulations

TriLynx provides software tools and services for tabletop storm event simulation for emergency management preparedness. This service allows an entity to simulate a historical storm event in the NovaStar system, providing insight to the real-time response of emergency management personnel and bring confidence to an organization in the event of an emergency.

This involves creating a simulation dataset for precipitation, water level, and other sensors and loading the data into NovaStar. The resulting data displays, alarms, and other results over the course of the simulation can be used to evaluate the system and emergency response plans. The simulation approach is customized based on system configuration.
