Steve Malers has worked for over 30 years developing software tools for hydrologic data collection, management, and analysis. Early in his career, he ported the National Weather Service River Forecast System (NWSRFS) from one UNIX platform to another and developed calibration tools for hydrologic modeling. Steve also was the lead software developer for streamflow forecasting systems while working in consulting.

Later, he helped the State of Colorado develop Colorado’s Decision Support Systems. Steve founded the Open Water Foundation (OWF)n in 2013, which focuses on developing software for water resources and addressing complex water issues in Colorado and the Western US. One of Steve’s major development efforts at OWF has been open source tools for Colorado’s Decision Support Systems (OpenCDSS), including the TSTool software, which automates processing of time series data and is used for hydrologic data analysis and modeling. OWF and TriLynx collaborate to enhance and implement TSTool.

Steve’s experience with hydrological data collection and management, software technologies, analysis tools, and system integration is utilized at TriLynx to ensure that TriLynx is able to support customer configurations and continue enhancing the NovaStar system to support new applications beyond its traditional market.
